Henrico County PTA Nominations Due March 9

Henrico County Council PTA officer elections will be held at the General Membership meeting on May 18, 2015.

Candidates are being sought for the following elected positions: President, Five (5) area Vice Presidents, Treasurer and Secretary. Term of office is one (1) year.

 Nomination Process:

  • If you are interested in a position, or have a recommendation for a position, please contact Shelly Brown, Nominating Committee Chair, at scbrown0614@yahoo.com to request a nomination form.
  • Completed nomination forms are due March 9!
  • Nomination Forms will be reviewed by the Nominating Committee and the Committee will collect additional information from candidates, as needed.
  • The Nominating Committee will post names for consideration by March 23, 2015, or at least 30 days prior to the scheduled election in September.

Ideal Qualifications for all Officers:

  • Maintain good working relationships and dialogue with fellow Executive Board members;
  • Follow the Bylaws of the PTA;
  • Be familiar with and follow Robert’s Rules of Order, Newly Revised;
  • Be able to attend monthly meetings, both Board and General Membership;
  • Attend all Henrico County Council PTA events; and
  • Be an experienced PTA leader.

Order the JDES 2014-2015 Yearbook Today!

Time is running out to place your yearbook order. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to have a life-long reminder of your student’s elementary experience. All the students love seeing themselves and their friends in the book and reminiscing on the year gone by.

The yearbook only costs $22! And, you can get your student’s name printed on the cover for an additional $5.

Two Easy Ways to Order:

  1. Go to Balfour.com and type “Jackson Davis” in the Search, and then select Jackson Davis Elementary, Richmond, VA from the list. Click the Yearbook icon and then select from the available options. You can pay by credit or debit card.
  2. Send in cash or a check for $22.00, payable to “JDES PTA”. With the payment, include a note stating: Your Student’s Name, Grade, and Teacher’s Name.

If you want your student’s name printed on the cover, send an additional $5 and be sure to print your student’s name clearly on the note you send in. There is a 25-character maximum for name printing.

Photos Needed

Send us your pictures from school and classroom events! The yearbook staff needs your pics to make the yearbook a great representation of the 2014-2015 school year. The more pictures we get, the better the yearbook.

Go to images.balfour.com and enter project number 51772 and password: davis. Enter your contact information, upload your pics, add captions and click upload!

Want to help out at JDES but don’t know how? Share your email address with us and we’ll be sure to send you information about volunteer opportunities and ways to give back to our school.

There are close to 600 students at JDES, but we only know of 200 email addresses. To be informed, email Kelly Walden (kpope_walden@live.com). She’ll record your email address and give you greater access to what’s going on at JDES. Be sure to also provide your email address to your room parents.
